Yokine Playspace: the playground we’d forgotten was this good

We’d been to Yokine Playspace before, but it had been quite some time since our last visit. When we came back recently, I was reminded just how much this one has to offer… and clearly Kai agreed, because we found ourselves back again this week too.

Sometimes it’s not about finding somewhere new — it’s about rediscovering somewhere you’d forgotten just how good it is.

Our experience

We’d been to Yokine Playspace before, but it had been quite some time since our last visit. When we came back recently, I was reminded just how much this one has to offer… and clearly Kai agreed, because we found ourselves back again this week too.

It’s such a beautifully designed space, with so many different pockets of play that he was completely spoilt for choice.

Kai especially loved all the climbing and balancing opportunities, collecting sticks as he went, and experimenting with the water play to see where the water would flow and how he could change its path.
But some of my favourite moments happened away from the actual equipment.

Kai and his friends disappeared amongst the greenery and suddenly they weren’t at a playground in Yokine anymore — they were off in the jungle, completely immersed in their own little world.

And I think that’s what makes this space so lovely. Yes, there’s plenty to do — but there’s also room for children to bring their own imagination into it.

And if your little one is drawn to water like mine… pack the spare clothes.
