Coming up
Markets
A relaxed Wednesday evening market in the gardens of Caves House with live music and local makers selling homewares, jewellery, gifts, baked goods, books and art. Free to wander, easy with kids, and a nice midweek outing if you're down south.
Workshops
A hands-on Halloween session where each ticket includes a full-size pumpkin, carving supplies and help from a facilitator, and you take your jack-o'-lantern home. Best for school-aged kids, who need an adult with them the whole time as real carving tools are used.
Agricultural Shows
The South West's agricultural show returns to Churchill Park with rides, show bags, animal judging, pavilions full of local produce and craft, live music and a fireworks finale on Friday night. Saturday has free kids activities, show jumping and harness racing. A classic family day out.
Sport
Young athletes aged 7 to 13 get their own triathlon and swim/run course on the Busselton Foreshore the day before IRONMAN Western Australia. It's about taking part rather than winning: there's no timing or placings, just a big crowd cheering them home.
Music + Concerts
Bring a picnic rug for a free evening of traditional and modern Christmas carols with the Busselton Jetty as the backdrop. There are children's activities and entertainment, and Santa drops in. Presented by the combined churches of Busselton and Dunsborough.
