Perth Zoo reopens after hours for costumed families on Halloween weekend. There's a trick-or-treat trail, scare-ousel rides, face painting, a Monster Mash disco and a silent disco, plus themed zones like Zoorassic Park and a Witch's Cottage. Animal viewing runs until 6pm. Each night is ticketed separately and it has sold out before, so book early.

A family-friendly Pride morning on the Zoo's Main Lawn with roving entertainers, a rainbow craft and sparkle station and live music from Little Miss Squeeze Box. The animals get rainbow-themed enrichment too. Entry is included with a normal Zoo ticket and members get in free.

Book a five-minute session in Perth Zoo's Christmas Cabin for photos with Santa, taken by an elf on your own phone or camera (as many as you like). Kids can post letters in the Christmas mailbox and get a reply. Up to six people per session; Zoo entry is extra and tickets are non-refundable.
